Definitions

“NZIPI”, “we”, “us”, “our” means the New Zealand Institute of Private Investigators Incorporated.
“You”, “user” means any person accessing or using our website or services.
“Member” means an individual approved for membership under NZIPI’s Constitution and Rules.
“Services” include website access, membership administration, training, events, and related offerings.
“Content” means all material published on this website, including text, graphics, images, audio, video, and downloadable documents. 

1. Introduction
Welcome to the website of the New Zealand Institute of Private Investigators (NZIPI).
By accessing or using this website (nzipi.org.nz) or any NZIPI service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).
If you do not accept these Terms, please refrain from using this website or our services. 

2. About NZIPI
NZIPI is a professional membership body representing licensed private investigators throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
We operate under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, guided by our Constitution, Rules, and Code of Professional and Ethical Conduct.

You agree to use this website lawfully and ethically. You must not:
Attempt unauthorised access to systems or data;
Interfere with website functionality or security;
Employ automated means to collect or copy content;
Misrepresent NZIPI or imply endorsement without consent.

Membership is subject to eligibility, approval, and payment of fees.
Members must keep contact and professional details current.
Rights and obligations are governed by the Constitution, Rules, and Code of Conduct.
NZIPI may suspend or terminate membership for serious breaches.

All content on this website is owned or licensed by NZIPI unless otherwise stated.
You may view or print materials for personal or educational use, but you must not reproduce, distribute, or modify content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
Members may use the NZIPI logo only in accordance with official brand-use guidelines. 

6. Events and Payments
Event or training registrations become binding once payment is received.
Refunds or cancellations follow NZIPI’s Event or Cancellation Policy.
Payments are processed through secure third-party providers;    
NZIPI does not store card details. All transactions are in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and governed by New Zealand law. 

7. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal information is handled per our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 2020.
By providing information, you consent to its lawful use and disclosure.
We apply strong technical and organisational safeguards to protect all data. 

8. Accessibility and Digital Governance
NZIPI is committed to the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility and Usability Standards 1.1 and to inclusive online access.
We strive to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility benchmarks.

NZIPI will investigate and may remove or restrict access pending review.

NZIPI may restrict, suspend, or terminate website access, accounts, or membership where:
These Terms are breached;
Misuse, fraud, or unlawful activity occurs; or
Required for security, maintenance, or legal compliance.

NZIPI may amend these Terms to reflect operational or legal changes.
The current version will always appear on this page with its effective date.
Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms. 

17. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and NZIPI regarding useof this website and services, superseding all prior communications. 

18. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Concerns about these Terms or our services should be sent to admin@nzipi.org.nz.
NZIPI will acknowledge receipt within 10 working days and seek to resolve the matter promptly and fairly.
If unresolved, either party may refer the issue to independent mediation in NewZealand before commencing formal legal action. 

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
