Membership of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Investigators (NZIPI) is open to all individuals who are engaged as professional investigators from many fields – not just licensed private investigators. There is no corporate or company membership, membership is individual only.
NZIPI will not promote any one entity or investigator and will at all time remain unbiased. Our rules are quite specific as to the criteria for membership:
We are an Institute for licensed private Investigators, other individuals who are engaged in a full-time occupational capacity as a “Professional Investigator” and individuals who can demonstrate to the Executive Committee that they have, and have had a “current and continuing interest” in investigations.
Being engaged in/or having experience in occupations that do not require New Zealand Ministry of Justice licensing, typically such as process serving, tracing, debt collection and repossessions are not a sufficient threshold for membership.
Some of our members offer a unique service, e.g. Information Logistics www.infolog.co.nz – a subscriber only service that searches the phone numbers of classified advertisers in most newspapers and other publications.
Our rules can be found by searching the Register of Incorporated Societies: http://www.business.govt.nz/companies/app/ui/pages/companies/otherSearch
The NZIPI Incorporated Society number is 567226.
Our rules as lodged sets out the criteria for membership and the process followed by our Executive when an application for membership is received. Please familiarise yourself with these rules if you wish to apply.
If you wish a membership application form then please ask our Secretary, firstname.lastname@example.org
